Webflow vs HubSpot for B2B marketing teams

Webflow vs HubSpot CMS compared on SEO, editing, speed, security, cost and scale. See where each wins and when to run Webflow with HubSpot CRM.

Transparency statement

We independently review and test every app in our app comparison articles. We don't earn any commissions on the link or the platforms. In full transparency, we are a Webflow partner, and that's because we independently tested all the CMS platforms throughout the years. In our opinion, Webflow is the best for B2B marketing teams from mid-market to enterprise organizations worldwide.

Key takeaways

  • Design control: Webflow gives full visual control of HTML, CSS, grid and flexbox. HubSpot works from themes and modules, with HubL for custom work.
  • Editing without developers: Both let marketers edit. Webflow also lets them build new layouts. In HubSpot, new layouts usually need a developer (Webflow, vendor claim).
  • CMS flexibility: Webflow has custom collections and templates. HubSpot has blogs, HubDB and CRM objects tied to contact data.
  • SEO control: Both are solid. Webflow gives per-page control without plugins. HubSpot adds SEO recommendations on Professional and above (G2).
  • Speed: Depends on the build in both cases. We have no head-to-head data.
  • Security: Both are managed SaaS with no plugin layer to patch.
  • Integrations: HubSpot is native to its own CRM. Webflow connects to HubSpot, other CRMs and automation tools.
  • Scalability: Both scale. Webflow's complexity sits in the site, HubSpot's in the CRM data.
  • Pricing model: Webflow charges per site plan plus workspace seats. HubSpot charges by tier and seats.
  • CRM: HubSpot has one. Webflow does not.

Your website is the bottleneck. Every landing page waits in a queue, every layout change needs a ticket, and now you are comparing Webflow vs HubSpot, or more precisely Webflow against HubSpot CMS (sold within Content Hub).

The short answer to Webflow vs HubSpot: they do different jobs. HubSpot is a CRM and marketing suite with a CMS inside it. Webflow is a visual website platform. For a B2B marketing website, our view is that Webflow is the better CMS and HubSpot is often the better CRM. That is why many teams run both: Webflow for the site, HubSpot for contacts, forms and pipeline.

Who is writing this? Overflow is a Webflow Certified Partner. Jort Steinebach is a Certified Webflow Developer with 40+ Webflow sites built. Niels Voshol has done SEO and AI Search on 40+ B2B projects. We build in Webflow, not in HubSpot CMS, so we have a bias. We will say where HubSpot is the better fit, and where Webflow is weaker.

This Webflow vs HubSpot comparison starts with a criteria table and a decision matrix, then covers each criterion, Webflow's limits, and a recommendation per situation.

Webflow vs HubSpot at a glance

Webflow describes itself as a platform that combines visual design tools, a composable CMS and built-in optimization features. It describes HubSpot CMS as a CRM-integrated content management system that works within the HubSpot ecosystem, using themes and HubL templates for customization (Webflow, vendor page). That is a vendor's framing, so we check claims against other sources where we can.

Side-by-side criteria

  • Design control: Webflow gives full visual control of HTML, CSS, grid and flexbox. HubSpot works from themes and modules, with HubL for custom work.
  • Editing without developers: Both let marketers edit. Webflow also lets them build new layouts. In HubSpot, new layouts usually need a developer (Webflow, vendor claim).
  • CMS flexibility: Webflow has custom collections and templates. HubSpot has blogs, HubDB and CRM objects tied to contact data.

Decision matrix by use case

Read each line as: if this is your situation, this is the better starting point. Limits are from the sources named, and plan limits change, so confirm them on the vendor's pricing page.

  • Custom layouts and a design system: Webflow. Components and variables let you change the site once. In HubSpot, custom layouts typically need HubL (Webflow, vendor claim).
  • Content with SEO recommendations and A/B testing built in: HubSpot, from Professional. Per G2, both sit above Starter.
  • Structured content such as services, industries and case studies: Webflow CMS collections. Check your plan's collection and item limits on webflow.com/pricing.
  • Content tied to contact data: HubSpot. You can see which pages a lead read before becoming a deal. Webflow has no native CRM.
  • Gated content and memberships: HubSpot, with memberships on Enterprise (G2). In Webflow this needs integrations or custom code.
  • Several brands or regions publishing from one account: HubSpot Enterprise adds partitioning and additional root domains (G2). Webflow handles multi-language sites with localization, available on its higher plans (Webflow Help Center).
  • Personalization on known CRM contacts: HubSpot. Webflow Optimize covers testing and personalization as a paid add-on, so check what it does before you rely on it.
  • Small team, no design resource, one tool: HubSpot, using its themes and templates.
  • Website as the main growth channel: Webflow, with HubSpot as the CRM behind the forms.

Webflow vs HubSpot: which is better for a B2B marketing site?

Choose Webflow if the website is your growth channel and needs design freedom and fast iteration. Choose HubSpot CMS if the site is mainly a front end for HubSpot CRM and a small team wants one tool for everything.

Our point of view is that Webflow is the best CMS for B2B marketing teams, for the reasons in the sections below. The comparison is lopsided because the categories differ. HubSpot is a suite in which the website builder sits next to CRM, email and sales tools (the FlowNinja comparison frames it the same way). Webflow does one thing, the website. Asking which is better is a bit like asking whether a CRM beats a design tool.

Design control and editing without developers

HubSpot CMS

HubSpot's drag and drop editor works well for standard templates. Themes and modules let marketers edit day to day without touching CSS, which is a real strength for small teams. Webflow's page says custom layouts typically require HubL and developer support (Webflow, vendor claim). In our view that is fair: the further you move from the theme, the more you depend on a developer who knows HubL.

Webflow

Webflow puts HTML, CSS, grid and flexbox on a visual canvas. Your team builds layouts, not just fills them in. Components and variables mean a site-wide change is made once and applies everywhere. That is what keeps a site consistent as more people publish.

The trade-off is that freedom needs structure. Without a design system, Webflow sites drift. The platform does not enforce good practice. The build does.

How we set it up

In Playbook 01 (our B2B Marketing Website build) we create a Figma design system and a modular CMS so marketing can publish without developers. At handover your team gets live training, video tutorials and documentation.

CMS flexibility and content structure

Webflow's CMS collections and templates suit the content a B2B site runs on: service pages, case studies, industries, resources, team members. You define the fields, design one template, and every item inherits it. The same structure supports programmatic SEO, where many pages are generated from structured data.

HubSpot covers blogs, landing pages, HubDB tables and custom CRM objects for structured data. Its real strength is tying content to contact data: you can see which page a lead read before they became a deal. Webflow cannot do that natively.

Now the limits. Since Webflow's May 2026 plan changes, the Premium site plan includes 20,000 CMS items, up from 10,000 on the old Business plan. Third-party guides list 40 collections and 300 static pages on Premium (Flowout). Enterprise limits are custom. Check webflow.com/pricing before you plan, because these numbers change. For most B2B sites 20,000 items is far more than needed. For very large content databases, see the headless section further down.

SEO and AI search visibility

Both platforms have solid foundations. Neither will rank you by itself.

Webflow gives you per-page control over title tags, meta descriptions, canonical URLs, an auto-generated XML sitemap, structured data, 301 redirects, and crawler and AI bot access, per its pricing feature list. It also controls whether individual CMS items are indexed. More on this in our guides to Webflow SEO, schema markup, sitemaps and 301 redirects.

HubSpot has built-in SEO recommendations, but G2 reviewers note that features like SEO recommendations and A/B testing sit behind the Professional tier. On Starter you get less guidance. Webflow's own page claims more granular control over meta tags and schema in Webflow. We would put it more carefully: both can be configured correctly, and Webflow makes it easier to do so in the template itself.

The AI search angle

Niels Voshol's view: for ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews, what matters is structure, schema and clear entity pages. Your site must say who you are, what you do and for whom, in a form machines can parse. A CMS helps by making consistent templates and schema easy. It cannot supply the content or the evidence. We make no promises on rankings or citations. If you want this engineered into the build, see our Webflow SEO services.

Speed, Core Web Vitals and security

We have no head-to-head speed data for Webflow and HubSpot, so we will not invent any. Here is what we can say.

Webflow sites are hosted with a CDN that routes each visitor to the nearest server, per Webflow's plan features. The output is only as clean as the build, though. Heavy images, stacked scripts and unused animations slow any platform. HubSpot is the same: speed depends on the theme and the scripts you load, including HubSpot's own tracking.

Client example: Nedcargo

  • Client and context: Nedcargo, a logistics company. Its Commercial Director has reviewed our work.
  • Starting platform: WordPress. This was not a HubSpot CMS migration, so it says nothing about HubSpot's speed.
  • What we did: moved the site from WordPress to Webflow in 4 weeks.
  • Result we can publish: the new site scores 95 to 98+ on Lighthouse.
  • Measurement method: Lighthouse is a lab test, so the score depends on the page, device profile and test conditions. We do not have a published before score or field data (Core Web Vitals from real users) to show here.
  • What it shows: how we build in Webflow, not that Webflow is faster than any other platform.

If you want to test this for your own site, run Lighthouse and field data on your current pages before you migrate, and again after launch with the same settings. More in our guide to Webflow page speed.

Security

Both are managed SaaS. There is no plugin layer to patch, which removes the most common source of WordPress vulnerabilities. G2 lists SSL as part of even the HubSpot Starter tier, and Webflow includes hosting and SSL on its site plans. If you have compliance requirements such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001, read each vendor's trust page directly rather than relying on a comparison article, including this one.

Integrations and the CRM question

This is where the either/or framing breaks down. HubSpot is the stronger CRM. Webflow has no CRM. Webflow does support embedding HubSpot forms, live chat and tracking code on your site (Webflow). HubSpot, in turn, lists Webflow among the apps its Content Hub integrates with (HubSpot blog).

The setup we recommend for many B2B teams:

  • Webflow for the website: design, CMS, SEO, speed.
  • HubSpot for the CRM: contacts, forms, lead routing, deals, reporting.
  • A clean handoff between them, with form submissions, UTM data and consent set up so sales sees the full journey.

We cover the details in our Webflow HubSpot integration guide. For how forms work on the Webflow side, see Webflow forms. Using another CRM? We also cover Salesforce and Pipedrive.

Webflow vs HubSpot cost: what you pay for each

We will not give you a three-year total, and we do not quote list prices here. Plans, seat bundles and promotions change, and prices from third-party sites often disagree. Instead, this is a like-for-like way to price both options on the day you decide, from the official pages: webflow.com/pricing and hubspot.com/pricing. Write down the date you checked.

The sample team and use case

  • One B2B marketing website in one language.
  • Three people who work in the site: a marketing lead and two editors.
  • A blog, service pages and case studies, plus landing pages for campaigns.
  • Forms that feed HubSpot CRM, which the team already uses.
  • Need for SEO controls and A/B testing on landing pages.
  • No membership area and no personalization on known contacts.

What to price on each side

  • Webflow: the site plan that includes the CMS, the workspace plan and the number of paid seats for your three people, billed yearly versus monthly, and any add-on you need, such as extra bandwidth or Optimize for testing.
  • HubSpot: the Content Hub tier that includes SEO recommendations and A/B testing (Professional and above, per G2), how many seats that tier includes versus your three, and any onboarding fee for that tier.
  • Both: the CRM licence. Webflow needs one next to it. HubSpot Content Hub does not replace a CRM plan, so check which hubs your sales team already pays for.
  • Both: the cost of the build, plus developer time. On HubSpot, custom layouts typically need HubL. On Webflow, a proper build needs strategy, design and development.

Put the two totals next to each other with the same team, the same features and the same date. Compare total setups, not plan names. A cheaper site plan can still cost more once you add seats, add-ons and a CRM, and the reverse holds too.

For a Webflow build quote, tell us your page count and what you need to edit yourselves. We give cost and timings upfront.

Scalability and enterprise needs

Both platforms can scale. The question is where your complexity lives.

Webflow handles complexity in the site: many collections, many locales, many editors. Webflow Enterprise adds custom limits and governance, and localization covers multi-language sites. Webflow's Team plan includes 100 CMS collections, Localize and publishing workflows such as page branching (Webflow Help Center).

HubSpot handles complexity in the data. Per G2, Enterprise adds adaptive testing, memberships, partitioning and additional root domains. Partitioning matters if several teams, brands or regions publish from one portal.

If your complexity is content and design across markets, Webflow fits. If it is gated content, membership and contact-level personalization across brands, HubSpot Enterprise fits better.

Where Webflow is weaker than HubSpot

A fair comparison names the gaps. These are Webflow's.

  • No native CRM, email marketing or sales tools. You need HubSpot or another CRM next to it.
  • Memberships and CRM-based personalization. Memberships and smart content tied to contact properties are native in HubSpot (memberships on Enterprise, per G2). Webflow offers Optimize for testing and personalization as a paid add-on, and its own page claims AI-driven personalization. If you need deep personalization on known CRM contacts, check carefully whether Optimize does what you need, or keep that logic in HubSpot.
  • Item and plan limits. 20,000 CMS items on Premium is plenty for most B2B sites, but very large content databases may suit a headless CMS better. See Webflow vs Contentful.
  • Teams with no design resource. HubSpot's templates are a quicker start if nobody on your side will own design. Webflow rewards a proper build.

Webflow vs HubSpot: which one should you choose?

Choose Webflow if

  • The site is your growth channel and design matters to how buyers judge you.
  • You want marketing to publish and iterate without developers.
  • You want SEO and AI search structure built into templates.
  • You are going international or adding service lines that need their own pages.

Choose HubSpot CMS if

  • You are a small team already all in on HubSpot.
  • Standard templates are enough.
  • One vendor matters more to you than design control.

Choose both if

You want a Webflow site with HubSpot as the CRM and form handler. For most B2B teams that already use HubSpot, this is where we land. See the Webflow HubSpot integration.

A real example of the choice

Nedcargo, a logistics company, moved from WordPress to Webflow in 4 weeks, and the site scores 95 to 98+ on Lighthouse. The reason for choosing Webflow was a site the team could run itself, not a speed contest with another platform, and it was not a HubSpot comparison. We do not publish a before-and-after test of Webflow against HubSpot.

Other situations

Switching from HubSpot CMS to Webflow without losing SEO

The fear is fair: a bad migration can cost you rankings. The risk is managed with process, not luck. A careful move covers:

  • A full inventory of current URLs and their performance.
  • A redirect map so every old URL points to its new equivalent with a 301 redirect.
  • The same URL structure where it makes sense.
  • Titles, meta descriptions and schema carried over or improved.
  • QA before launch, then checks after.

We promise no outcome on rankings or traffic. We do the work that protects what you have. Playbook 01 covers strategy, a Figma design system, the Webflow build, content migration, QA and handover. It typically runs six to eight weeks, depending on the size of your site. That is a typical range, not a promise. Read more about Webflow migration.

FAQ

Does Webflow integrate with HubSpot?

Yes. You can embed HubSpot forms, live chat and tracking code in a Webflow site (Webflow). See our Webflow HubSpot integration page.

Can I keep my HubSpot CRM if I move to Webflow?

Yes. Only the website moves. Your contacts, deals and workflows stay in HubSpot. We make sure forms and tracking on the new site feed the same CRM.

Is HubSpot CMS good for SEO?

It has a solid foundation. SEO recommendations come on Professional and above, per G2. As with any CMS, results depend on content, structure and how the site is built.

Is Webflow cheaper than HubSpot?

On list prices, a Webflow Premium site plan is far below HubSpot Content Hub Professional. But you add seats, add-ons and the build, and you still need a CRM. Compare total setups, not plan prices.

Can marketing publish without developers on both?

Yes for day-to-day publishing. The difference is new layouts: in Webflow marketing can build them visually, while HubSpot custom layouts usually need HubL and a developer.

Is Webflow the best CMS?

For B2B marketing teams, it is our view that it is. It is not the best for everything. If you need a native CRM, deep contact-based personalization or a very large content database, look at HubSpot or a headless CMS. If you want a second opinion, talk to us.

Still Have Questions?

Yes. You can embed HubSpot forms, live chat and tracking code in a Webflow site (Webflow). See our Webflow HubSpot integration page.
