Short answer: Wix is the faster start for small sites and shops. Webflow is the better fit when your website has to generate B2B pipeline and marketing owns it.
This page is for marketing leads and founders shortlisting a platform, often while leaving WordPress, HubSpot or an older site builder. Most Webflow vs Wix articles judge both tools for beginners, online shops and designers. This one judges them on what a B2B marketing team needs: SEO structure, CMS, speed, governance and who can publish without a developer.
Our point of view is clear: Webflow is the best CMS for B2B marketing teams. We build on it every week, so we are not neutral. That is why the page also shows where Wix wins and where Webflow has real limits.
One note on scope. The old Wix story no longer covers the full range. Wix now also sells Wix Studio for designers and agencies, and Wix Enterprise for larger projects. We cover both where they matter.
Below you find a side-by-side table, then SEO, CMS, speed, editing, security, cost, integrations and scalability. We end with recommendations by situation and a short list of what to protect if you move from Wix to Webflow.
Webflow vs Wix at a glance
This table is based on the Webflow pricing page and the Wix plans page, plus our own experience building on Webflow. We have not built B2B sites on Wix, so Wix points come from Wix's own pages and independent reviews.
- Audience: Wix is for small businesses, shops and beginners. Webflow is for marketing teams, designers and developers who want control.
- Editor: Wix is drag and drop with AI site creation. Webflow is a visual development canvas with CSS-level control.

- SEO control: Wix offers built-in SEO tools. Webflow exposes titles, metas, canonicals, sitemap, robots rules for search and AI bots, structured data and 301 redirects.
- Performance: Webflow includes a CDN and outputs clean code. On Wix, speed depends on the build and apps.
- Security and hosting: Both are managed hosting. Wix states 99.99% uptime and security monitoring. Webflow offers Enterprise for larger needs.

Quick verdict: a solo founder or local business should look at Wix. A B2B team with several services, markets or a content plan should look at Webflow. A design-led team that wants more control but likes Wix can look at Wix Studio.
Both let you try before you pay. Wix is free to create a site, and Webflow has a free plan that publishes to a webflow.io subdomain.
What are Webflow and Wix actually built for?
Wix is an all-in-one website builder. You start from an AI prompt or one of 2,000+ templates, edit with drag and drop, and use built-in business tools for stores, blogs and payments. Hosting is included, and Wix states 99.99% uptime on its plans page. The goal is to get a business online with little effort.
Webflow is a visual development platform. You design on a canvas that writes clean HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and you get a CMS and hosting in the same place. Pricing is per site, as the Webflow pricing page shows. The goal is control over structure and design without hand-coding every page.
For more complex projects Wix offers Wix Studio and Wix Enterprise. Enterprise comes with dedicated account management and is priced on request. So Wix is no longer only a beginner tool.
The difference in one line: Wix optimizes for speed to launch. Webflow optimizes for what happens after launch, when marketing has to publish, structure and scale content.
SEO: how much control do you get?
For a B2B site, SEO is not a plugin you add at the end. Templates, CMS structure and schema decide whether service pages, industry pages and topic content can scale cleanly.
Webflow lists these controls on its pricing page:
- Custom title tags and meta descriptions for every page
- Alt text and social share previews
- Global or page-level canonical URLs
- An auto-generated XML sitemap
- Allow or block search crawlers and AI bots
- Structured data
- 301 redirects
- Indexing control for individual CMS items
Wix offers built-in SEO and marketing tools that suit standard setups. Independent reviewers rate its technical control lower. LitExtension, for example, names Webflow the better pick for SEO features and calls Wix's technical SEO control weaker. That is one reviewer's opinion, not a measured fact, so test the specific settings you need before you commit.
What to check on any platform: can you edit templates for a whole page type at once, control indexing per page type, output schema from CMS fields and manage redirects in bulk? These matter more than a feature checklist.
No platform ranks a site by itself. Content, links and search intent do that. Webflow gives you the structure to do that work properly. See how we use it in our Webflow SEO services and in our guide to schema markup in Webflow.
CMS and content structure
The Webflow CMS is built on Collections: groups of items that share a template. Per its pricing page, you can schedule items to publish, publish or unpublish items in bulk, and use REST APIs to manage content programmatically.
This suits B2B because a marketing site is mostly structured content. Typical CMS collections for a B2B site:
- Services and industries
- Case studies
- Resources and blog posts
- Team members
- Integrations or partners
Design one template per collection, and every new item follows it. Marketing adds a case study without asking a developer to build a page.
Wix has blog and content tools that are easy to start with. If you need large or relational content, such as case studies linked to services and industries, verify what your Wix plan supports before you decide. We have not tested this on Wix.
Speed and Core Web Vitals
Webflow hosting includes a CDN that routes each visitor to the nearest server, per its pricing page. It also outputs clean code. Reviewers tend to say Webflow is the faster of the two: LitExtension calls Webflow better for performance and says Wix carries heavier code. Treat that as a reviewer claim.
Speed also depends on the build. Oversized images, heavy scripts, chat widgets and tracking tags slow down a site on either platform. A fast platform does not rescue a careless build.
Our own evidence: we migrated Nedcargo from WordPress to Webflow in 4 weeks, and the site scores 95 to 98+ on Lighthouse. That is a Webflow build result, not a Wix comparison. We have no Wix benchmark of our own, and we will not invent one. If speed decides your choice, run PageSpeed Insights on live Wix and Webflow B2B sites in your sector. More on how we approach it in Webflow page speed.
Editing and ease of use: who can publish without a developer?
Wix wins on learning curve and onboarding. You can launch a site from a prompt and rearrange elements by dragging them. Reviewers agree: LitExtension rates Wix best for ease of use and describes Webflow as having a steeper learning curve.
Webflow asks more up front. Its interface exposes real layout and styling concepts, and Webflow University exists because there is a lot to learn.
The question for a B2B team is not who can build the site, but who can safely change it every week. In Webflow, a developer sets up a design system and reusable components. Marketers then edit text, images and CMS items and publish. They do not need to understand the styling, and they cannot easily break the layout.
That is how we hand over our builds: live training, video tutorials and documentation, so your team publishes without us. We aim for ownership, not dependency.
If nobody on your side can own a design system, and you only need a simple site, Wix's simplicity is a real advantage.
Security, hosting and reliability
Both platforms are managed SaaS. Hosting is included, and you do not patch plugins or servers yourself. That is a real difference from a self-hosted WordPress setup.
Wix states advanced security monitoring and 99.99% uptime on its plans page. For Enterprise buyers, it says its team handles security questionnaires and points to a white paper on data protection, compliance and GDPR.
Webflow offers an Enterprise tier for larger needs. Read about it in our Webflow Enterprise guide.
We do not make compliance claims for either vendor. If you need SOC 2, GDPR terms or a data processing agreement, ask each vendor for its current documents and have your security team review them.
Cost: pricing models and what to compare over 3 years
The two models differ. Webflow prices per site, plus workspace seats. Yearly billing saves up to 40%, and add-ons such as localization and Optimize cost extra. Wix is free to start, then Premium plans, with yearly prices that vary by location. Enterprise is priced on request.
Prices change, so check the live Webflow pricing and Wix plans pages. We do not quote numbers here.
For a fair 3-year comparison, put every line in one sheet:
- Platform plan per site, per year
- Workspace or editor seats
- Extra locales and other add-ons
- Apps and third-party tools
- Design and build, including migration
- Maintenance, training and changes
- Cost of delay: how many dev tickets or agency hours each change costs today
Wix is generally cheaper to start. Webflow's value is in the last lines: marketing time saved and fewer developer tickets. If your team publishes twice a month, that gap may not matter. If you launch campaigns weekly, it does.
Integrations and scalability
Webflow has REST APIs, custom code and native or connected integrations with the tools B2B teams use. See our guides to the HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Mailchimp and Klaviyo integrations.
Wix has a large app market and built-in tools for stores, bookings and payments. For a business that sells and books online, that is a strong base.
Where Webflow is weaker, honestly:
- Ecommerce is lighter than Wix for stores with diverse products.
- Multilingual is a paid add-on and needs planning. Read our Webflow localization guide before you scope markets.
- Very large or relational content, or content for many channels, may call for a headless CMS. See Webflow vs Contentful.
For a B2B marketing site with tens to a few hundred pages, plus a CMS-driven blog and case studies, Webflow scales comfortably in our experience across 40+ builds.
Where Wix is the better choice
Wix is the right call in these cases:
- Small business or local service that needs a good site quickly on a tight budget.
- Online stores with many products, where built-in payments and business tools save work.
- Teams without anyone to own a design system, where easy editing matters more than structure.
- Prototypes and first versions, where you want to be live this week.
We say this openly: Overflow does not build ecommerce, and we do not build on Wix. Our advice here comes from knowing what a B2B marketing site needs, not from selling Wix projects.
Which should you choose? Recommendations by situation
- Solo founder or small shop: Wix.
- B2B marketing team with growth plans, several services or markets: Webflow.
- Design or dev team that wants more control but wants to stay in Wix: look at Wix Studio.
- Interactive landing pages only: look at Framer. See Webflow vs Framer.
- Complex multi-channel content with developers on hand: a headless CMS such as Contentful. See Webflow vs Contentful.
- Coming from WordPress: read Webflow vs WordPress.
Why Webflow for B2B marketing teams? Because the website is a system, not a brochure. You need structured collections for services, industries and proof. You need SEO controls at template level. You need a team that publishes without a ticket. Webflow covers all three in one platform, with no plugin stack to maintain.
That holds for the typical B2B scale-up. It does not hold for a shop with hundreds of products or a team with no one to own the system. Pick for your situation, not for the tool's reputation.
Moving from Wix to Webflow: what to protect
This is a short checklist, not the full process. For that, read our Webflow migration guide.
- URL map: list every live URL and decide where it goes.
- 301 redirects: point old URLs to the new ones. See 301 redirects in Webflow.
- Metadata: carry over titles, descriptions and alt text.
- Content: keep the pages that earn traffic and leads.
- Analytics and tags: reinstall tracking before launch.
- Forms: rebuild and test every form and its routing.
Wix content often has to be rebuilt in a CMS rather than copied across, so confirm the scope before anyone promises a date. A migration reduces risk when it is planned, but we cannot promise rankings or traffic.
